Build Communities
The National Association of Fathers exists to empower, educate & uplift fathers to become more sustainable and present leaders of their households and community. Any male can be a father. It takes love, support and encouragement to be a real Dad. NAF work to reduce the amount of fatherless children nationally through Community engagements, event activation and resources. Our object is to strengthen the father, the family and the community.

About Us
The National Association of Fathers is an organization that develops positive fatherhood values and long-term commitment to children, family and the community.

As America looks inward at how we can be a better nation changes need to be made in society. Our organization acts as a conduit to resources that empower all Fathers to be more engaged and emotionally connected to their families and communities.

Changing Social Norms
Changing knowledge, attitudes and behaviors is not enough. We need to change the social norms. Often it is the unspoken beliefs about Fathers – that hold society back from reaching true equality and progress for the future of their community.

Community Advocacy
Fathers we serve are leaders on the front lines, rebuilding poverty-torn neighborhoods from the ground up. They are passionate about advocating for other Fathers and their communities. With our help, they become agents of change.

We work with Dads to become community leaders.
We advocate for the rights of other Dads and marginalized people in their communities.

Responsible Fatherhood

Promoting responsible fatherhood is the focus of The National Association of Fathers. We help develope well-adjusted youth.
We created the N.A.F. out of a need for a long-term solution to the complex socio-economic problems that minority communities face. Our aim is to create a place where dedicated Fathers can help disadvantaged Fathers and their families to build personal and professional skills. In addition we aim to help Fathers develop strong emotional ties with their families. These skills help the process overcome barriers to success. It is our hope we can enhance the quality of life for everyone in our community.

Misrepresentation of Fathers
The media reports or depictions often misrepresent Fathers as “absentee” dads who abandon their children by connecting non-marital births with parental involvement. However,
research tells us, that many Fathers are deeply engaged with their children, and physical separation is not always synonymous with lack of father involvement.

Dad Vs. Father

A father might provide financially for his family by working non-stop, but a dad is someone who provides his time just as much as his paycheck. When work takes a father away from his family far too often, and he makes no attempt to lessen his workload, he finds himself too busy to spend time with his family.

A man that doesn't take the time to bond with his kids is a man that has strangers for children. He knows his kids as much as his kids know him - which is not at all. It is a sad way for a kid to grow up and a sad excuse for escaping parenting.

To become a Dad, Fathers must spend their hard-earned money on the needs of their children, give up their free time to take care of them, and even give up some hobbies and interests.
